THE SUNRISE GROUP MEDICAL INSURANCE PROGRAMS

ELIGIBILITY

  • Non-USA Citizens between the ages of 14 days and 65 years of age AND,
  • Who are members of the Visiting International Military, Bundeswehr, NATO, Ministry of Defense or Support personnel for the visiting international military while living, working or visiting outside their home country, OR
  • Non-USA Citizens who are family members of the Military personnel, Bundeswehr, NATO, Ministry of Defense and Administrative Support personnel outside their home country including unmarried dependent children over 14 days old and under 19 years of age.

DEFENDER SHORT TERM MEDICAL PLAN

  • This program is designed specifically for a short-term (5 days to 3 months).
  • It is in line with the requirements of the DSCA with regard to limits and coverages required for the military and their families while deployed in the USA.
  • Some examples where this coverage would apply:  Travel to seminars or meetings worldwide outside your home country; Traveling on holiday for yourself and your family; or when deployed outside your home country for education or temporary assignment.
  • This program is a stated benefit plan - which means coverage is provided up to a stated amount for each benefit (i.e. inpatient hospital room benefit = Up to $1400/day, Surgical Treatment Benefit Up to $3,300/policy period, Physician/Urgent Care Visit Benefit =Up to $55.00/visit/day, etc).

PROTECTOR EXTENDED TERM MEDICAL PLAN

  • This program is designed specifically for an extended term (3 months to 3 years)
  • It is in line with the requirements of the DSCA with regard to limits and coverages required for the military and their families while deployed in the USA.
  • Some examples when this plan would apply: Assigned to duty for education outside your home country for an extended period of time; Traveling outside your home country with your family- you can have proof of coverage prior to leaving; On assignment outside your home country and you would like to return home for holiday and then return back to your duty station.
  • It is a comprehensive program with benefit amounts in line with the Usual and Customary charges based on where you receive services, up to the policy maximum.
  • This plan includes coverage for incidental trips to your Home Country.
